During his visit to China, U.S. President Barrack Obama said in Shanghai that Internet has an enormous power in assisting information dissemination, and he personally has benefited from Internet.

Answering a question at the town hall meeting in Shanghai on Monday, President Obama said to a group of young Chinese college students that more freely information flows, stronger a society becomes. He said that unrestricted Internet access will give rise to new and creative ideas, and to some extent hold the government accountable for its deeds.

Obama added that during his campaign for the White House, his team’s prompt and wise mobilization of young American voters helped him win the presidency.

The internet can also assist the free flow of misinformation, rumours, biased views, politically motivated misinformation and discriminatory sugar coated chaos inciting words that are defeating to fledgling developing societies. Sort of like people showing you that their “grass is greener” whilst you are still piping your yard. It distracts and demotivates. Eats away the fabric of society. It is necessary sometimes to protect society in such situations. Would you let you kids have access to “everything” on the internet? Would any women be happy at the “free access” to “alternative entertainement” their husbands have on the internet? Some of these comments we need to take with a pinch of salt. As Albert E. said, “its all relative”.
