For Inspiration: “Everlong” by Foo Fighters

Taylor Hawkins, for 25 years the drummer for Foo Fighters has died. He was 50. Rest in Peace, Taylor!

Taylor Hawkins, for 25 years the drummer for Foo Fighters and best friend of frontman Dave Grohl, has died during a South American tour with the rock band. He was 50.

Foo Fighters, who were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year, had been scheduled to play at a Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota, Colombia, on Friday night.

The first thing I remember hearing about Foo Fighters was “the lead singer used to play drums on Nirvana”, and I thought that it was going to be a flop! Then I watched Everlong Music Video and I completely regretted saying that! At some point I even tried to convince my wife for string quarter at our wedding to play Everlong. Never happened!

A lot of people have a love-hate relationship with Foo Fighters, but you can’t deny the level of energy between Dave Grohl’s guitar and voice and Taylor Hawkins’ drumming: it must been tough for him to fill the shoes of Nirvana’s drummer!

Rest in Peace, Taylor!
