The games industry in Brazil is in the crosshairs of the Brazilian government, according to Brazilian Minister of Science and Technology, Aloizio Mercadante.

He held a meeting recently with Robson Braga de Andrade, president of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), to discuss the promotion of national technological innovation.
“Brazil is a market for information technology and telecommunications from $ 186 billion. We are the seventh world market. In the sale of equipment are the fifth largest market. In computer sales, we are in third place. Nevertheless, we have a trade deficit of U.S. $ 19 billion. We are a very large market with imported product.We will increase the national product.What did we do with the tablet with the phone, with more than 80 million cell phones we have in the country and TVs”, said Mercadante.
“Let’s make a very aggressive policy in relation to software games. Companies in the sector already employs half a million workers. It is a promising industry, very important for the country and especially for the youth services department.We must foster this activity, stimulating the production of national content”, said the minister.
